Commissioning a bespoke engagement ring is a fun and exciting experience. You may know exactly what you would like, or you may want help with which style and gemstone to choose. I am here to help!
The main considerations are timing and budget. A bespoke engagement ring takes 12 weeks to source the gemstones, finalise a design and then handcraft it for you; take this into account when you plan on proposing. If you need it a little quicker just let me know and I am sure we can make it work! With regards to your budget, I need to know a rough idea of what you are happy to spend so that I can suggest suitable designs and gemstones. I ask for a 50% deposit via a BACS payment once we have agreed on your gemstone and design, and then the other 50% upon completion.
A few other things to think about are…
What metal would you like the ring made in?
Your partners taste in jewellery; do they like vintage, dainty rings, or more modern, statement rings?
Do you know what gemstone you would like in the ring, a diamond or perhaps a coloured stone?
Do you know what shape gemstone you would like, or their top 3 choices?
Have you got any inspirational photos of rings? Or photos of jewellery that your partner wears already?
Do you know their finger size? Don’t worry if not, I can give you some tips to work it out!

After we have had an initial design consultation to discuss all of the above points and anything else you would like to ask me, I source a selection of gemstones for you to choose from. I explain each of the qualities to you, especially regarding diamonds. If you would like more information to help choose a diamond read my Diamond Guide.
Once you have selected your gemstone, we finalise the design. Before I start handcrafting your ring, you will receive CAD drawings of it to approve, I can keep on adjusting the design for you until it is perfect. The whole process involved in a bespoke engagement ring is explained more in depth in my Bespoke Guide.
